    We don’t need a touch screen you just want one. It would be cool but we don’t need one. If they put two analog sticks it would be a completely different sytem and people would have to buy the Go just to play the games and Sony doesn’t want that.

    Sirwingealot,
    The PSP Go offers us:
    * bluetooth
    * compact size (which is really welcome to me)
    * 16GB internal memory (which can be expanded up to 32GB with Memory Stick Micro (M2) slot)
    * plays downloaded games, but not UMD

    Existing PSP units can:
    * download AND do UMD
    * have larger screeens (4.3 inch versus 3.8 inch)
    * have more comfortable controls
    * 16GB memory stick + PSP + cheap USB cable costs less than the PSP Go. They all play the same downloadable games equally

    Not much new = hate?

    Rokalot82,
    If the PSP were a phone, it would be pretty much like all other phones that do games out there: not very good as games machines.

    Plus keep in mind the battery life being reduced because of the phone’s radio / antenna systems constantly being on, plus different phone standards in the world. Keep in mind they have to compete with the DS price-wise, too. I think it’s a bad idea to make it do all things very average.

    It would be better being a (good) games machine first, in my opinion.

    Why would I pay for something $50 less than the PS3? How about I just get a modded PSP 3000 & download every game for free or just get a 2nd PS3.

    Ok, this is not an unboxing, just one of those testing videos, it is just a plane old box, since we don’t see him taking it out, and not seeing the sides, and since they didn’t record them taking it out, then this isn’t an unboxing…

    Trigger200284,
    IF you don’t want to deal with retail people (I think we all don’t at some time), you can still download with the current PSPs, and have been able to do that for a while.

    Of course the hype is internet-based. You won’t see a TV ad for a product that isn’t selling yet. :)
    Anyway, 16GB + full-featured PSP + USB cable can still be bought for less than this thing. Bigger screen, UMD ability, download ability. Better option if you ask me.

    MrTuberBoy,
    People …

    MrTuberBoy,
    People in media and software developers get it early because it’s already being made in the factory now, and people in media build up interest for Sony on their sites (it’s like almost free promotion for Sony, and it brings advertising revenue and hits for these media people).

    Software developers must know about the new hardware in advance too, to make their plans in advance and have stuff ready.

    I wonder how do these ppl get it be4 the official release..

  20. Trigger200284 Says:

    i have got to say, …
    i have got to say, if you don’t have a computer of some sort capable of at least syncing your psp then you probably don’y even know about the new pspgo because almost all the hype is internet based, on top of that not every system is for everyone, i personally want one because of the size and the convenience of not dealing with dickheads at EBgames and gamestops, and i do mean big floppy dickheads, same way ppl prefer xbox or ps3 or vice versa, i hate the ps3 but the ds handhelds r too childish

    Maxis12356,
    The memory slot in the PSP Go is optional. It comes with 16GB internal memory. But it costs $250 US dollars. It’s actually cheaper to get a regular full-featuared PSP and a 16GB memory stick.

  22. interwebbist Says:

    Maxis12356,

    Maxis12356,
    I think you’ll find that 16GB Memory Stick Pro Duo cost $65-70 US dollars (check Amazon, Adorama, Bhphotovideo).

    16GB Memory Stick Micro (M2) used in the PSP Go cost about $75 or thereabouts. Your profile says you’re in the USA, so I don’t know where you’re shopping.

    Proprietary mini memory stick? Proprietary USB cable? Get lost Sony. I love PSP and PS3, but there’s no way I would spend money on this abortion. It deserves to die a painful death.
