Convert cassette tapes to MP3

Here is a quick and easy way to convert cassette tapes into MP3 format without any expensive conversion hardware or software. If you have a newer version of Windows, with Windows Movie Maker, and an audio dubbing cable, you have everything you need. This method also works with record players that have an earphone jack. Once the song is in MP3 format, it is easy enough to burn to cd, or download onto your ipod, or mp3 player. Windows Movie Maker is a free download and is in Service Pack 2.

once you have an audio file, you can use a program called CD wave editor to set cue points that would indicate the track beginnings and end. once a cuesheet is created, it can be recorded as sep. tracks by software like clone cd (i think..)

    Good question, of …
Good question, of which I don’t have an answer. I don’t know of a way to set track points with a continuous recording. I believe each song (track) would have to be recorded and saved separately. Time consuming for sure, but you would have the separate tracks to jump to. I am not familiar enough with other audio programs to comment as to their capabilities. If anyone out there knows how to set track points on a continuous recording, don’t be shy.

I’m a dj and very often i record music in gigs. At the end of the recording i have an audio file with all the songs played in. i know how to convert it into mp3 but is it possible to set track points on it so it’s easier to listen to it in car or home, without having to listen to it from the begining and fast forward till the desired song, but still without gaps between tracks? Can it be done with Nero or with some other program, and how? Any help please. Sorry for bad english.
