Is it illegal to throw away old mobile phones?
I think I came across an ad once they stated it illegal and an arrestable offence to throw away old mobile phones with your normal household waste. Is this true? Can you be arrested for throwing an old mobile phone away in the bin?
Apparantly it’s illegal but not a federal law in some states in the USA to throw away old computers / batteries etc. What rules are there for these types of things in the UK as well please?
It is illegal because it is hazardous waste and must be taken to a recycler.
