I am a freshman in high school. I currently do web design (i.e. HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Flash, etc.). I have been introduced to Visual Basic, and Java. I want to skip ahead for now and learn about creating applications (apps) for mobile phones. Where do I start? If you could please refer me to online tutorials.

Well, this is not simple java.
If you know some thing about java, i mean , you know something about java programming.
Then, you need to start J2ME, this is java edition for small devices.
Why is that, because , a micro device like mobile phone,PDA have limited resources you can’t compare them with normal desktop applications.
They have limited:
Memory
Processing Power
Screen Size
RAM size
