Dell Laptop Explodes on Chaser
Another Dell laptop explodes but this time on Australian TV. Clearly this is a fake, but it goes nicely with all the Dells spontantiously combusting these days. This is an snippet from the ABC show The Chaser - War on Everything in Australia. The full version can be downloaded via their website and podcast.

Hmm, thats weird, I was wondering why laptops existed, and there must have been a point to them.
Thanks for this info, my world has been turned upside down.
This is revolutionary knowledge…

accually i7 only has 4 cores but each core has the HT technology like the one in the old Pentium 4 series makes it able to act like it has 8 cores

Sorry, i7 is 8 …
Sorry, i7 is 8 cores, I just re read my comment…
Yea, I always custom build my computers… The comp you built 5 years ago must have been the absolute top of the line back then for it to out perform some macbook pro’s
Anyways, the reason I like desktop pc’s MUCH more than mac’s (laptops or desktops) is you can pretty much upgrade anything without buying a new comp…

i’ve owned a mac …
i’ve owned a mac and built my own pc and i will never go back to the dark ages of Macs building my own pc was fun, worthwhile and cheap it is kinda sad that the computer i built 5 years ago still outpreforms the newer macbook pros and imacs while it only costed me $650 to build back then complete with monitor and speakers and wireless keyboard and mouse set i have never been happier getting my refund from apple

“Just because your …
“Just because your friend visits sites and uses all his harddrive and RAM copy and pasting doesn’t mean that his mac sucks”
The fact you said that makes you a got. Dont get into arguments and use some dumb bullshit for facts…
August 25th, 2009 at 11:30 am
You must be kidding …
You must be kidding me…
Here is a top of the line mac book pro:
3.06GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
8GB 1066MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2X4GB
500GB Serial ATA Drive @ 5400 rpm
Thats all yours for the low price of $4,748.00 (Priced out on the apple site)
Go price out a desktop pc with an Intel i7 extreme processor… i7 extreme’s are 3.2Ghz quad core… Go get a 6 slot board, and 12 GB or ddr3. Then a 1TB HDD and anything else, it will be much less than $4800.00
(PS im not a fanboy, I enjoy both PC, and MAC)

To devo85x: People who use MiniDV camcorders use Firewire. You HAVE to. The USB is for stills.

LOL!!!! To …
LOL!!!! To AarenCreed: Are you THAT out of bad points that you have to say that someone was visiting sites? Dude that’s what people ALWAYS say when they run out of stuff to say. Even Macs from 5 years ago (Which would be iMac G4s and EAAAAARLY G5s. The Intel ones are stillway faster even though the others were) copy fast.

1) Sorry about that …
1) Sorry about that, it was 4 points… 2) USB 2.5 does NOT exist… (unless it is some mac thing?) 3) I never said macs suck… 4) fresh OS installs do NOT slow down a computer, they actually speed it up (normally) 5) he reinstalled about 2 weeks before… so your 72hr bs doesnt count 6) please explain how macs have more processing power… fastest mac = 8 cores, 3.33GHz each… fastest PC (that I have seen) = 8 cores, 4.6GHz each… so I think i have my facts a bit better than you do…
August 25th, 2009 at 11:30 am
The fifth comment …
The fifth comment does not count as a point, and I meant to say what kind of connection. Firewire? USB 2.0? USB 2.5 (Available on only the best computers and yes it does exist.)? Saying a mac sucks is not a point, it’s a clouded bias. Freshly installing ANY OS slows down the computer until manual or automatic settings have been completed which even automatically takes around 72 hours of running…I hope you knew that. And yes most mac’s do have more processing power if you knew your facts…
August 25th, 2009 at 11:30 am
oh and your the one …
oh and your the one insulting my friend by basicly calling him a perv… so I think your the one talking with no proof… not me… not to mention you say the mac “has more processing power” than a PC… what kind of drugs are you on?
August 25th, 2009 at 11:30 am
1) it doesnt matter …
1) it doesnt matter what time the HDD was connected, you mac people like to say they dont get viruses right? 2) yes its an intel processor 3) you say I only have one valid point, I count 3 actual points in my last comment, the other 3 were not exactly points, ether way you cant count 4) you dont have ANY points that are not based on incorrect umptions… 5) this comment has 5 good points… so now what are you going to about by uming things that are wrong…
August 25th, 2009 at 11:30 am
First of all what …
First of all what time of connection was the HDD. Second of all, that’s your only valid point. What kind of processor? Intel? Because you can get a Mac without intel which is cheap. Next time you try to talk , have some good points to back it up…
August 25th, 2009 at 11:30 am
next time you try …
next time you try to talk , remember not everyone is a perv like you downloading all the time and never reinstalling the OS…
August 25th, 2009 at 11:30 am
1) it was a fresh …
1) it was a fresh install of OSX, no , 2) it was after installing 8GB of ram and he uses an external HDD to store files (but he was copying to his normal HDD) 3) after all this YES it means his mac sucks 4) like i said, it was a fresh install, dont talk if you dont know whats on it… 5) he bought the mac literally 6 months before… not 10 years… again, if you dont know what your talking about its best to shut the up… and 6) again fresh install smartass…
August 25th, 2009 at 11:30 am
Just because your …
Just because your friend visits sites and uses all his harddrive and RAM copy and pasting doesn’t mean that his mac sucks. If he wouldn’t have all that on it, it would copy really fast unless he decided to get the lowest possible parts on everything in which case it would just copy fast. By the way I’m not talking about 10 year old Macs I’m talking about ones that came out within the past 5 years. Tell him to delete some of his libraries and that should fix his problem…
August 25th, 2009 at 11:30 am
there is no such …
there is no such thing as random freezing and crashing… its always caused by something, and considering the fact that one of my friends Macs couldnt copy an DVD WITHOUT copy protection without crashing and did it in tripple the time my PC did even after he got it working (it took him about 15 tries…), not to mention and the software may not come with windows but that is just admiting that Macs have bloatware… and who the uses firewire, especially now that USB 3.0 is coming out…
