It’s also common …
It’s also common sense. Syncing a multi-gigabyte plaqyer through USB1 is next to useless. And having just few megs of storage is equally useless..

U got that from …
U got that from Steve Jobs’ keynote.

ACTUALLY, Apple got …
ACTUALLY, Apple got far ahead because every other player in the market sucked. Either you got a small flash-player with few megs of storage (useless), or huge HD-based player that took AGES to fill with music (also useless). iPod was the first small player that had plenty of storate and fast syncing. It was the first player that was actually USABLE.
Even today those other players usually feel cheap and crappy.

They were saying …
They were saying how they hoped it became an icon and it did iPod rules. Sent from my iPod touch

For anyone who is …
For anyone who is pointing out the flaws in this device, take a look at the other music players that were out at the time and you’ll realize how advanced this is. We all take innovation for granted, as Apple is light years ahead of their time!
And daaammmn, is Jonathan Ive hot

At 3:00 Moby says …
At 3:00 Moby says it all- Even I had trouble wrapping (maybe warping) my mind around the fact that I had my entire collection of Van Halen, Metallica, and Guns n Roses on this tiny thing!
You have to think that in 1991what I thought was revolutionary was that I could not only carry my music, but skip ahead, without waiting for the tape to fast-fwd. (tape! ha!)
The iPod to me made a quantum leap to the year 3000 and brought back something I could have NEVER imagined! This was Star Trek stuff

No one did. You may …
No one did. You may have to google this to confirm, but years later they researched how DID the iPod take off? It’s one of those things you can’t calculate or predict, but basically people started looking at other people on buses and trains wondering “WTF are those white ear-bud headphones for?”
Yep. It was the ear-bud headphones that caught attention. Apple took advantage of this, hence you got those silhouette ads with the white ear-bud headphones and wires prominently displayed.
