¿Qué Es Lo Que La Gente Está O No Dispuesta A Sacrificar En Tiempos De Crisis?

Monday, November 16th, 2009

¿A quién quiero impresionar?

Greetings From Budapest. Razr V3xx. Razr Phone

Friday, November 13th, 2009

Opposed to some commentators, I feel the RAZR phone V3xx is a much bettered phone from Motorola. Consuming owned numerous phones in the 10 years I have used cell phones. I have had most every the brands at about point including the archetype V3. I feel vast betterments in all aspects of the RAZR phone V3xx, from raised intuitive & larning predictive text to best battery living to the larger, clearer display to the bettered more lasting keypad to the mini- SD slot [up to 2gb's for memory]. In my head it’s a bettor phone than the V9 Razr2, being littler only having as is size main display and feaures [it would've cost $100 more b/c I was not a new AT&T client also]. Even the flowing video is steady and clearly like a BlackJackII or Blackberry, but a little small for steady constant apply.

Averaging complete 2000 text msg’s, some 45 minutes of web browsing, a few century phone mins plus apply the PDA like characteristics regularly monthly. But, rarely do I need to charge my battery to a higher degree once every early day. The great problem people have on shorter battery life is their loser to amply charge the batter ahead use, reloading it before it’s closely discharged and employing cheap chargers that overload and/or heat the battery causation poor operation and shorter life. As well, batteries will have step by step faster discharges o’er time and mostly should be superseded after a year or so if used
perpetually. I have already purchased a spare OEM battery through with Amazon for under $6.00. As far as strength, I am harder on stuff admitting phones than most folks, and have noticed that hard plastic or metal snap on covers work wonderments at protective a phone for to a lesser degree $10.00 besides.

Do not discount the RAZR phone V3xx when taking phones. It may not be the better, only is at the top of the list of honest full sported phones out there with easy received and sensibly priced supplements, disregardless of the carrier you use. I’ve had my RAZR phone V3xx for about 6 months and pass to like it a great deal. Hi res intimate display. Loud call and earpiece intensity. It’s a 3G phone so calls is good and data speeds is in no time. The battery life is since good as my early Nokia. Only it’s much best than late versions of the RAZR phones. I seldom get dripped calls and no one has ever plained about soundly tone on the phone. Quality is not at all. My 19 year old brother has the equal RAZR phone. He’s dropped it some of the times without any problems, and he text contents about 2000 times every month. He’s had no keyboard troubles at all. Do not get me wrong, these phone is not the better out there, just it’s a really good phone that I’d get again.

I must read, this phone back-number jolly good to me. The RAZR phone isn’t as delicate as the purportedly breakable older variants of the razr. It does scrape jolly bad, merely for a thin phone, it does the job. I wouldn’t recommend browsing the internet or texting for this phone isn’t designed for it, only I do not text and I do not like to wait 30 secs to lode web pages. If you ask a phone for speaking and do not plan on doing a lot else, this is the phone to get. It’s bluetooth, and so you are able to get a wireless headset to use newest. I like the RAZR phone, only now I’m checking an iphone. Effective starter phone at any rate! Battery life is good also, but charge double per week if you’ve it on whole the time and speak 30-60 mins a day.

Amazon Kindle 2 Review: Why It’s The Most Popular eBook Reader Today

Tuesday, November 10th, 2009

You may not have heard about the Kindle when it first released. Compared to some technologies such as the iPhone and new versions of Windows, the Kindle was a fairly quiet release. If you are an avid reader, you were probably more than a little intrigued. But intrigue grew into popularity with the release of the much-improved Kindle 2. And now with the Kindle DX, the most advanced reader on the market, Amazon has become the single most popular maker of ebook readers.

But is all this popularity well-founded or is it just hype brought on by a new piece of technology? To be fair, it is a bit of both. The Kindle is far from a perfect device and it won’t be replacing the paper book just yet, but it does offer the best possible way to take your books, and lots of them, wherever you want to go. That portability is something you just cannot find with normal books. And even though the Kindle DX is big, roughly the dimensions of a sheet of paper but substantially thicker, it can bring over 3,000 books with it. You would need quite a backpack to carry a library that big with you.

The Kindle 2 may be the most popular ebook reader available, but it certainly isn’t the only one. The DX, however, is really the only one of its kind available. It offers a huge screen, more storage and some cool features such as a rotating screen like the iPhone. But it also makes a huge price jump from the Kindle 2.

The price of the Kindle DX is a whooping $489. This is probably why many people, even those who think highly of the Kindle and the ebook technology, are hesitant to get a Kindle DX. It doesn’t even come with any freebies like a bestseller or two, and since you would still need to purchase a good cover for it, your costs could extend well beyond the $500-mark. At the very least, couldn’t Amazon just have thrown in a cover into the package?

Since the Kindle is a fairly new device, it still hasn’t completely broken into the market. Although it is the most popular one, the Kindle still can’t offer its internet connection service outside the country. Once the Kindle is more established, this is likely to change. For now, many people just see it as a fancy way to read books. But it wasn’t so long ago that the iPod was just a fancy way to listen to music. Now, it is one of the most widely spread pieces of technology you can find. The Kindle remains revolutionary in what it offers. Eventually, it is hard to imagine that paper books will not be replaces. For now, it is still a luxury to many people, but as it discovers its territory in the marketplace, more and more homes will be losing the bookshelf and getting a Kindle.

Amazon Kindle eBook Reader May Need Redesigning To Catch On

Saturday, November 7th, 2009

The Amazon Kindle, Amazon’s foray into hand held e-book reading devices, was released in November. The reader splashed onto the scene with a cover photo on Newsweek and Amazon hoped the Kindle would do for digital-reading-on-the-go what the ipod did for digital music. That is, make it a viable concept and business, replete with enthusiastic users.

However, there’s not a whole lot of evangelizing going on around the Kindle.

Some people appreciate the palm-sized smallness of the Kindle, while others deride its small keyboard and awkwardly designed casing. The opinions are mixed and there are plenty of them.

Once you have the Kindle, you can visit Amazon’s e-book store, where you can purchase brand new books for $9.99, which is a discount from what new hardcovers generally cost. Even though in this proposition you don’t end up owning a tangible tree-made book, you get to enjoy the reading of it. But that brings up a principal issue for e-book readers.

Do people want to read books the same way they read blogs and news stories, via a computer screen? A lot of the issues that people have had with the Kindle–that’s it’s ugly, that the black and white screen isn’t up to par, that the keyboard and scroll wheel aren’t that well designed, and that it’s too expensive–may stem from the fact that reading books on the Kindle e-book reader is not the same as reading a paper-bound book. The experience is not the same.

You get the information, but part of the joy is stripped from the experience. Another issue is that we expect a lot out of our hand held devices these days. The iphone has set a new standard–and that’s a phone.

An e-book reader should have a high degree of interactivity with other Kindle owners that are friends. It should look as advanced and appealing as an iphone. It should be able to do most of what a high-tech cell phone can do in addition to the e-book reading functionality. It seems like it does too little if you can’t use it to access maps, the yellow pages, and search engines. For $399, it should do some of these things. At the very least, you should be able to do Internet searches.

Computers have become so intertwined in our work and personal lives, that it seems logical that an e-book reader would be the next step. And maybe it is. But it shouldn’t just be an e-book reader. It should be an e-book reader and a cell phone. I think the Kindle’s designers misread the psychology of an e-book reader.

It’s not bibliophiles who will be using this thing. It’s the geek who wants his hand-held device to do more for him than he expects, and that he can wow his friends who don’t have one.

Surprisingly or unsurprisingly, the Amazon Kindle is sold out. Or at least that’s what it says on Amazon.

The Kindle makes sense on paper. But that’s the problem.

How to Create 3d Games in a Browser

Wednesday, November 4th, 2009

As of right now the most popular free online games on the Internet consist of 2d games created in Adobe’s Flash. Widespread among many game websites, these games are often fun but can seem simple when compared to the intricacies and potential of web based 3d games. The toolkits at your disposal for you to create games within a browser consist of a lot of options but I will focus on 3 major software packages. As a game developer with 5 years of profession game development experience, I’ll list some of the options game creators have open for them to make games that run within a webpage and a brief general summary.

Web based 3d games are an old idea that was first made popular with Adobe Shockwave which appeared first in 1995. Originally named Macromedia Shockwave, it was the first and most popular multimedia  format until Macromedia Flash (now known as Adobe Flash) appeared on the web. At first, Shockwave was developed for creating a variety of online media  options but now  mainly focuses on web online games and their creation. There is a contrast between Flash and Shockwave creation that is signicant to mention. Flash media is usually faster to start and are made up soley of 2d graphics. Files in the Shockwave format are a more complicated creation environment which allow greater versatility, more in-depth animation trees and more detailed overall user interactivity. Shockwave is such an adaptable tool that it is often regarded as a program to create only web media. Unknown to many, the fact is some of the professional games I have personally worked on used Shockwave to develop an entire full length game such as CSI 2: Dark Motives and CSI: Miami.

Part of the attraction of using Director for a creation tool for game development is the wide user demographic it enjoys in mature markets such as North America and Europe. Adobe has listed the amount of Shockwave enabled PCs at 60%. Over 480 million PC’s with Internet connections have installed the Shockwave player which results in a large ready to use user base which is a benefit for game developers. Also the capacity for developers to develop outside plug-ins called “Xtra’s” has left the door open for increased versatility in development. Coupled with the years of already developed documentation and tutorials out there, Adobe Shockwave is a wonderful choice for game creators. One negative aspect to Adobe Shockwave is the ancient networking code and it’s miss of some basic graphic  aspects such as 2nd UV coords and color by vertex.

New on the 3d games creation scene is the product known as Unity. Unity boasts a much more robust tool kit which is aimed on creating web games. The game engine used is more advanced than the older program in Adobe’s Shockwave player. Unity features cross-platform ability which in plain terms means it can be adopted to develop software for Windows, Macintosh, Wii,Web-browsers or the very popular new Iphone. Unity’s has decided to put its attention on developing a game dexterous authoring tool is made clear by with its advanced proprietary toolkit sets for  AI navigation and deployment of game objects. The landscape terrain tool packaged with Unity is a great reason alone to warrant the retail price, as a tool with the option of paint brushes to sculpt out fantastic terrain, blend realistic textures and create lightmaps which add to the realism. Having done this in the past by hand, I know that a significant amount of time is spent developing this and this is a big time saver.

The ability for game creators to develop media that can be immediately ported to Wii and iPhones make Unity an inciting and significant tool. This makes the most of the gain on the work put into multiple products. Sadly, Windows developers have to wait for the 2.5 patch of Unity which has been worked on for a good part of a year. Until then game developers are made to develop on a Mactintosh only work environment which is not a common thing platform for game developers.

One more option for game developers which is like Unity would be Stone Trip’s Shiva3d. Similar to Unity, this is a game editing tool with a very robust tool set. They also give the option for developers to create in Windows, Mac, web pages and the Iphone. Only missing from this list is the ability to create Nintendo Wii. Almost all the same features offered by Unity are available to anyone who uses Shiva3d. To help further spread interest in their product, they offer a free version to download on their website which is nice if you have limited funds for your project. This allows you to try before you buy but only limits you on publishing the actual media. This fact aside it is a good way to understand what you are exactly getting for your price. The only negative aspect I can see to this great tool is the sheer amount of competition it is up against in the crowded 3d games media market.

If you are interested in creating 3d game titles, and with enough patience you will be able to find the software package that suits you best with some research. There are more tool options available but I have listed the ones that seem the most interesting.
