My friends have a 7 year old son who has autistic developmental delays. They want to get him either a Nintendo DS or a Sony PSP for Christmas. Which system is better for children like this? Which one makes more children based games?

I just asked my 9 year old who has both of the systems. He said definitely the Nintendo DS because you can play DS games, Gameboy games and Gameboy Advance games. There are also two screens and have a Stylus (one of those plastic pencil things) that he uses on some games. This helps with his fine motor skills.

If there is another DS nearby and they sync up, my son can communicate by writing on the screen with the Stylus and they can send messages to each other…kind of like creating their own PECS.

How many types of sony psp are there out there? I found a few on craigslist and they advertise them as psp fat, psp slim, and etc. I want to know which is the newest version and what types of other ones are out there. Thanx.

You got the 1000 version (Fat) it's the oldest then, you got the 2000 which is the (slim) the second oldest. The most recent and newest one is the 3000 which is the newest slim. That's it. Good luck!!!

digital slr cameras. If ur just starting a good camera would be a nikon d80 and when u get money the nikon d300, which is the top for slr cameras.

how good is the quality of a video recorded from photo digital cameras?.. let´s say compared to a standard 8mm video camera or similar

The 'video' from a digital camera can be very good (depending on which brand and how heavily the video is compressed).
Canon make some of the best quality 'video' available. You just need to make sure the camera can record video at 640X480 at 30fps. (you can have smaller video at 320X240 at 60fps).

But of course the video from a digital handycam will always be better.

I am new to the ipod touch market and while researching on the web cannot figure out if there is a first and second generation or only a first. I am not talking about the regular ipod, but rather the ipod touch. I am debating on waiting for the next generation of the touch, because i can wait and I would think there would be significant improvements. Any meaningful thoughts is much appreciated.

there i only one ipod touch out. there have been a lot of software upgrades like currently there is the 2.0 software upgrade. there also is the app store for the ipod touch. there is no new ipod touch model out yet. i want to get an ipod touch too and i am going to wait at least till September because the ipod touch has been out for almost a year now(which is a really long time for apple) and apple usually updates the entire ipod line up in September because it is right before the holiday season.

I am looking for an MP3 player on which I can listen to music, watch videos, listen to an FM radio, and (if possible, and very preferable) connect to the internet via wi-fi. Are there any mp3 players like that, or am I thinking of something too advanced? The iPhone and iTouch are too large and cluttered for me. Any suggestions?

Does anyone know of a GPS unit that, on top of giving driving directions, can display a map of the area?

It would be great if the maps had street names and if I have a GPS coordinate, allow me to input that then find the location . Essentially, I am looking for a self contained device with the functionality of google maps, with a large screen, and has no need for a cell connection.

I dont really understand how it works and how much the plan is goign to come up as. Im planning on getting the new iphone thats coming out in july, single plan but i want unlimited texting. i have two laptops running windows XP.both have wireless connectivity .
how to connect them so that i can acces the other laptop thru wireless connectivity?

There are 2 ways.

You can get a wireless router and connect them both to the router.
You can also make one laptop make an ad-hoc network and the other laptop can join it. This will be cheaper but with less range.
